Graham Hill, Embassy-Hill GH1, 1975

29th of November -
A tragic crash of Graham Hill’s private aeroplane takes the lifes of the twice World Drivers’ Champion, his young driver Tony Brise, designer Andy Smallman and three other members of the Embassy-Hill F1 team back in 1975. Baghetti, Gurney & Bonnier, Reims 1961

27th of November – At the 12th anniversary of Giancarlo Baghetti’s passing it is impossible not to reminisce about the 1961 French Grand Prix. Entered in a privately owned Ferrari, the Italian fought his way through the field from 12th on the grid and with eight laps to go he began to challenge race leader Dan Gurney. After seven lead changes Baghetti dived out of Gurney’s slipstream with two hundred yards to go and won by 1/100 of a second. Not only was it an exciting finish, it was also an accomplishment that made F1 history, a record that stands till the present day. Do you know what I’m talking about?

Richard Burns, Peugeot 206 WRC, 2003

25th of November – Despite the illness that had befallen Rally World Champion Richard Burns, motor sport fans all over the World were saddened to hear, two years to the date, of Richard’s passing. In the year when we mourn the loss of Colin McRae, Britain’s tragedy to lose two of their greatest rally heroes within two years is hard to accept.
