10th of February – 35 years ago Ronnie Peterson scored his first ever pole position in Formula 1. The stage was the Interlagos circuit near São Paulo in the year 1973, the first time ever a World Championship would be held in Brazil. It was the Swede’s fourth season in the top league, but surely the first season he had adequate equipment in hands to translate his natural speed into the first of a career total of 14 pole positions.
10/2/1903, Franco Cortese is born in Oggebbio Novara, Italy.
Apart from being a record starter at the Mille Miglia with 14 participations and one victory between 1927 and 1956, Cortese was a Grand Prix winner a the City of Rome, the Circuito di Vercelli, the Circuito di Vigevano and the Circuito di Varese in 1947 and also winning the 1950 Grand Prix of Naples. He also won the 1956 Italian 2-litre championship in a Ferrari 500.

10/2/1923, Theo Fitzau is born in Köthen, German Democratic Republic.
An entrepreneur from East-Germany, Theo Fitzau raced for the oficial Veritas team in the domestic scene, including the new for 1951 Formula 2 championship. He used the chance to race with an AFM-BMW F2 in the 1953 German GP at the Nürburgring, the only time he appears in F1 stats, to deflect to West-Germany.

Eddie Johnson was a regular in the AAA and USAC Championship Car series and made F1 stats by finishing 6th in the final Formula 1 World Championship counting Indy 500 and thus scoring one World Championship point. He died in a plane crash near Cleveland, Ohio.

Andy Linden participated in the Indy 500 from 1951 to 1957 and without his car breaking down or being involved in a 3rd lap crash in 1953, he’d finish the big race in the Formula 1 Wordl Championship points scoring positions. Thus his name appears in the points scoring F1 stats, his best result being the 4th place in right his first atempt in 1951.
