It’s no secret that printing news on recycled chopped down trees is a dying industry. And ANYTHING will do to keep those zombies going. If for the sake of selling yet another couple of copies to declare something EXCLUSIVE that, in fact, we at P1Mag brought as our title story in issue 21 on the 13th of October (!) is either…

“It’s not the first time Honda’s questionable ethics towards their employees causes disgust in F1 and Bernie will have to help Fry and Brawn to find a buyer to avoid seeing 700 F1 people out of a job. Maybe it’s a good thing Honda leaving after all, maybe now somebody will take over who won’t hamper the team’s progress with silly political decisions and awkward reporting and decision making structures. Maybe Honda saying goodbye is good news for F1 after all.”

20th of October – Ayrton Senna lets team-mate Gerhard Berger through out of the very last corner to win the 1991 Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka and give Honda their 65th win in Formula 1. The Brazilian s generous gesture is easier to understand, considering that 2nd place was enough to secure the World Championship win at the season s penultimate round. It was the Brazilian his 3rd title since 1988.

It’s bordering to the ridiculous when a driver (or a manager … or both) say „there’s nothing signed“ or „I got no contract“ at this time of the year. Who do you think you’re kidding, dude? OK, admittedly they don’t even have to lie to say that. That’s because of the legal procedures even most journos aren’t aware of. So here’s the Formula 1 silly season dictionary for dummies to help everyone a bit lost between what you’ve read here and what drivers (or managers) keep saying.

What on earth is wrong with these people at FIFA and now IOC? How irresponsible can you get? Brazil is a “bagunça”", a disorganized mess. And Rio de Janeiro is one of the most violent and dangerous places in the World. Even without a war going on. This board, drawing attention to the incredible tally of 18.137 deaths through violence in Rio de Janeiro in a period of just 29 months, was conveniently removed from public sight as the IOC ceremony approached. That’s an average of more than 30 people slaughtered every single day!!!!

How someone in his clear state of mind can even dare to dream of bringing events of that magnitude to a place that is out of control and clearly in the hand of drug lords and all sorts of criminals, many of them wearing military and police uniforms or sitting in government offices, is totally beyond me. No wonder some of the applicants are wondering on how this decision came about. So do I !
