i came across this site when searching pictures of my dad. you have used his photo on your page of 11june 2008 and it states he has died! i can assure you he is still alive, does he look like he was born in 1929? you have used his image in error and you should remove this at once, it is very distressing to see that you are saying he has died! you have obviously used the wrong image for “jimmy davies”. and you should not be making such awful, upsetting mistakes! please remove my father’s photo!

    Dear Alison,
just for the record: This is a blog about motor racing and the people involved in the sport. So lets sort out the facts from your rather confusing post:
    a) RACE DRIVER Jimmy Davies sadly HAS died. That’s a fact. The post is about the race driver, NOT YOUR DAD!
    b) Do you think I know by heart the physionomy of each and every driver in history, especially from days even before I was born? Of course not, I have to rely on my sources. And people do make mistakes, you know?
    c) What bugs me is that a polite first contact doesn’t seem possible these days. Has nagging become a worldwide sport? It seems more recently relatives of this and that person fall over themselves to criticise in a less then adequate tone things done here with passion AND AS A NON-PROFIT PROJECT! Annoying!
    d) So there’s been a pic of your dad mistakenly put in the place of US-racer Jimmy Davies, whom the post is actually about. Tell me: You couldn’t simply ask for it to be corrected without all the drama? “Awful, upsetting mistakes”? Oh give me a break. It was a mix up that’s being corrected and that’s all there is to it! SORRY!
    e) Would have been a great idea to post this where adequate, not on the latest post of this blog which hasn’t got ANYTHING to do with the matter!

In the beginning for sure, because he will want to have everyone working together. It remains to be seen if he will be 100% neutral after a couple of years. After all this is about power and influence. You never know what that does to a person.
