BMW’s “yes, maybe later” towards entering DTM
"The executive board of BMW AG came to a positive policy decision regarding the company’s involvement in the restructured German Touring Car Masters (DTM) from 2012." Translation: no, we're not confirming we're in, we want to see what they come up with next AND THEN we'll have a look into participating. Or in other words: The current DTM isn't attractive at all. Pretty much what the P1Mag report in issue 13 stated among issues that are keeping manufacturers away...
Is the DTM bubble about to burst again?
The latest issue of P1Mag brings a lengthy background story as to why the DTM has failed to attract new manufacturers to enter the series for the entire ten years of its existance and why the series is running a serious risk to end like the DTM/ITC era in the mid 1960s. Seen this one? Then you haven’t seen issue no. 12 of P1Mag. Free download at www.p1mag.de . This shot was taken bei Eberhard Strähle during last Weekend’s Hockenheim Historic and shows the unfortunate off of a McLaren M8F after an oil spill by another competitor. I guess he’s no longer asking for the 600.000 Euro selling price…
Delayed issue out now
Dear friends, the latest P1Mag suffered some substantial delay as we experienced some serious software troubles. However, you shouldn’t miss this issue as there are spectacular shots from the WRC round Rally Turkey and the Hockenheim Historics. Issue no. 12 now available at www.p1mag.de. Enjoy!
Microsoft not making friends here!
P1Mag’s issue no. 12 will appear as late as Wednesday. No, not the vulcano has disrupted our production, but the – UNSOLICITED – update packages of our Computer’s OS (Microsoft…), whichhijacked the DTP machine FOUR TIMES (!!!) uploading updates without previous warning. The delayed NASCAR races and missing reports from Japan made it altogether impossible to finish the latest issue in time. We apologize for the delay.

Remembering Markus Höttinger
It’s fast living times we live in: Race drivers, who lost their life while sharing the common love for our sport somewhere in the past seem en vogue to be remembered, if they were multiple World Champions. Well, there are a few people who believe Markus Höttinger not ony would have made it to Formula 1, but also would have been successful. He was the kind of naturally gifted and intelligent driver that had it all going for him. Until he perished in a freak accident on the 13th of April in 1980 in Hockenheim at the wheel of his Maurer Formula 2 car, very similar to the late Henry Surtees fatal accident last year.
Markus is pictured above in a group 5 BMW 320i he won several races of the extinct Deutsche Rennsport Meisterschaft with. P1Mag will dedicate a double page to the 23 old austrian in its issue number 11, appearing this evening. And it looks like we’re alone in remembering poor Markus. Fast living times seem to leave no room for memories of great racers we were fond to watch in the past…
Issue no.10 is out !

THIS is how North One Sport is promoting WRC…
As a journalist you largely depend from the quality and speed of the PR people of race and rally promoters to do a proper job. One of the worst media services by far in the entire international motor sport World is the one handling the PR of the World Rally Championship, North One Sport!
So what’s your guess?
First of all I’d like to wish all of you out there happy easter holidays. And for all of those hardcore die-hard fans out there, who’ll skip searching easter eggs for watching F1: We’ll almost certainly gonna have the third winner in as many races. So, who’s gonna win it this time? Well, if it rains at Sepang on Sunday, anything can happen. But I’d go for a RBR 1-2. I’d guess Vettel wins ahead of Webber, Rosberg, Kubica, Alonso, Schuey, Hamilton, Sutil, Button and Hülkenberg. What’s your prediction?
2nd of april ;)
Well, you probably figured out yourself that yesterday’s post was just to get the “copy&post jornalists” going. Unfortunately I was too busy to monitor it then. Any feedback who was daft enough to pick this one up…? =D
Heidfeld to replace Schuey in Sepang
Surprising news brewing at the MercedesGP hospitality in Sepang: Michael Schumacher won’t take part in this weekend’s Malaysian Grand Prix and will be replaced by 3rd driver Nick Heidfeld. No official comment so far as to what led to this surprising move. An official statement from the team is due in a couple of hours. Rumours suggest Schumacher might pause until the Spanish Grand Prix.
