Since Sebastian Vettel’s win at the Indian Grand Prix the World Championship battle has basically been reduced to the Vettel vs Alonso showdown scenario everyone expected anyway. But as Red Bull have found their top pace now and the Ferrari is probably at the end of his development cycle already, the task is monumental for Alonso.
Yet reliability could become an issue, more than once Vettel lost precious points due to mechanical failures and, as Alonso never ceases to point out, it could happen again and turn the situation around in his favour.
One thing is for sure: Wwe got a season finale lined up, where the most complete driver out there is staged against the young gun of the moment. Predictions? Perhaps Vettel is at an advantage because his team-mate is right up there to help, while Felipe Massa has been no help and hardly will be in the remaining races. So Alonso basically stands alone against Red Bull Racing.
