Takuma Sato wrote history today in winning the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, becoming the first Japanese driver to win an Indy car race in person.and giving A.J. Foyt Racing cits first victory since Airton Daré ‘s victory at Kansas Speedway on the 7th of July 2002.
Sato’s Long Beach win was A.J. Foyt Racing’s 44th victory. The last win for the team on a road/street course even dates back to A.J.’s own days of glory, when the living American racing legend won an overseas race at Silverstone in 1978!
