Recapping this Weekend’s on-track action is fairly easy: There were only two noteworthy races going on! One being the season-opening race of the Argentine TC2000, one of the most successful touring car series of the Americas, at General Roca and ultimately won by Ford works driver Juan-Manuel Silva.
Kasey Kahne became the first driver in the truck series to win three of his first four starts when he took the race win at Darlington ahead of four-time truck champion Ron Hornaday Jr. and defending series champion and 2010 Darlington winner Todd Bodine. Saturday marked Kahne’s second appearance in the Kyle Busch Motorsports Toyota normally driven by team owner Kyle Busch, who was vacationing in Cancun. The race was slowed by 10 cautions, including one for a three-truck wreck involving Johanna Long, Ricky Carmichael and Nelson Piquet Jr. that brought out the red flag for 7 minutes, 37 seconds.
