It was one of those weekends, when the sport you love hands you very mixed feelings, including those of grief and sadness.

There was excitement to see the MotoGP, Moto2 and 125 cc stars dealing with the treacherous conditions of a damp tarmac in Jerez, there was disbelieve to see a safety car driver cause anything but a safe start during the start of the opening round of the Le Mans Series in Le Castellet, there was a fair deal of tactics involved in the opening round of VLN Endurance championship at the good old Nürburgring Nordschleife and thrilling last lap lunges in NASCAR.

But then, when we thought everything was going just fine in the motorsport world, alarming news reached us from São Paulo. Another brutal accident in the ‘Curva do Café’ at the Autódromo José Carlos Pace cost the live of talented Gustavo Sondermann, a young man who impressed in his short stints in Europe and North America, but sadly never found the budget to establish a career towards professional motorsport. We bring a hommage on this fine young man and look into the issues involved in his accident, while our thoughts in these moments are with the family, Gustavo’s girl friend and his many friends.

You will also find in this issue reports on the 2nd round of the Brazilian StockCar Cup, the VLN Endurance Championship season opener as well as the races for the Formula 3 Euroseries and the SPEED Euroseries at Paul Ricard HTTT in Le Castellet.
