This issue is out slightly later than our usual late Tuesday deadline, due to the postponement of NASCAR’s Sprint Cup to Tuesday. But what a race weekend it was: Jorge Lorenzo kept the MotoGP World Championship open with a dominant win in Misano. Chevrolet and Ray Mallock took the WTCC manufacturer’s and team’s Word Championship titles with three rounds to go in Valencia, while Yvan Muller stripped team-mate Rob Huff of his points lead in the driver’s standings.

Trans-Am title holder Tony Ave successfully defended his 2010 crown and Bob Stretch clinched the TA2 title. And flying Finn Petri Suvanto sealed the USF2000 title in the streets of Baltimore. Across the Atlantic ocean Felipe Nasr secured the British Formula 3 Championship and Richie Stanaway accomplished the first of two tasks, securing the rookies’ title in the German ATF F3 Cup.

Will Power’s second win within two weekends, emerging on top of a highly eventful inaugural race in the streets of Baltimore narrowed Dario Franchitti’s standings advantage to a mere five points.
