In his usual dominant way Sebastian Vettel never let anyone even come close to challenge him for the race win in the first ever Indian Formula One Grand Prix in history, scoring a hattrick of pole position, fastest lap and victory. Jenson Button finished second from Fernando Alonso, while Mark Webber dropped from second on the grid to a disappointing fourth. Michael Schumacher for once beat his young team-mate Nico Rosberg for fifth, while Lewis Hamilton had to settle for seventh after yet another collision with Felipe Massa, who crashed out on his own later. Jaime Alguersuari, Adrian Sutil and Sergio Perez completed the top ten.
