A successful early 1950s businessman and privateer sports cars racer in the early fifties, taking third place in the 1951 Mille Miglia. He financed his racing from a successful import-export business and a mineral water bottling company. His greatest success was winning the 12 Hours of Casablanca sharing a works Ferrari with Nino Farina. In 1956 he bought an F1 Connaught on hire purchase and took 7th in the International Trophy, but after the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa he returned the car to the factory and gave up racing.

Born: 11th of November 1909 in Florence, Italy.
Died: 14th of February 1976 in Sarnedan, Switzerland.
