Lewis Hamilton claimed the third pole position of his 2012 F1 campaign, beating in his final attempt the man that stunned the World with a surprise P1 in the final minutes of qualifying for the Spanish Grand Prix at the Circuit de Catalunya.

Pastor Maldonado will line up in the front row for the first time of his F1 career on Sunday. In row 2 Fernando Alonso will line up alongside Romain Grosjean. Kimi Räikkönen will share Row 3 with Sergio Perez and Row 4 will see Nico Rosberg ahead of Sebastian Vettel, who opted to save tires and record two slow laps. Michael Schumacher did the same and will be 9th on thre grid ahead of Kamui Kobayashi, who didn’t take part in Q3.
