With a terrific performance all Sunday long Pastor Maldonado prevailed over a hard-charging Fernando Alonso to take his first F1 win in the Spanish Grand Prix with Kimi Räikkönen taking his second podium finish in a row with P3.

However, a major flash fire following an explosion at the rear of the Williams garage area as the team was celebrating its Spanish Grand Prix victory in Barcelona caused a fright in te after msath of the race.

At least one mechanic was reported to have been removed by ambulance to hospital due to smoke inhalation, with no-one immediately reported as injured by the fire itself. There’s considerable damage to the pit equipment and Bruno Senna’s race car is said to be severly damaged, according to unconfirmed reports.
