Stefan Bellof captivated the imagination of German motorsport fans long before Michael Schumacher appeared on the scene. rising through German FF-1600 and F3 to European F2, where he stunned experts by winning his first two races, to a works drive with Porsche that brought the drivers title in the Endurance World championship and finally F1. But destiny didn’t give him the time for a similarly brilliant career in Grand Prix racing.

Gunnar Nilsson was a fine driver who was rising to prominence, after winning his first GP in Belgium in 1977, until cancer killed him. He is remembered thanks to the charity that bears his name.
